Korean name: 비빔밥 · bibimbap
Rice topped with seasoned vegetables, beef and egg, mixed with gochujang at the table.
Savoury, nutty and mildly spicy, with crunch from fresh vegetables and soft rice underneath.
Add gochujang to taste, then mix everything thoroughly with a spoon before eating — the name literally means "mixed rice".
Steamed rice topped with seasoned vegetables (namul), often beef, a fried or raw egg yolk, sesame oil and gochujang.
Ask for the chilli paste on the side if you prefer it mild. Vegetarian versions without beef are common.
Jeonju, the dish's home city, serves the definitive version.
