Chodang Sundubu

Korean name: 초당순두부 · chodang sundubu

What is it?

Soft tofu curdled with East Sea water, eaten plain with soy sauce or in a gentle stew.

Taste & texture

Very soft, delicate and subtly sweet, with a clean bean flavour — milder than you might expect.

How to enjoy it

Try it white (plain, with a little soy sauce) first, then the red, spicy jjamppong-style version if you like heat.

Ingredients & preparation

Soft tofu curdled with seawater from the East Sea instead of a chemical coagulant, served with rice and side dishes.
